Am standing at the back of Ross Dawson's Future Exploration Network Enterprise 2.0 Executive Forum event at Luna Park in Sydney. Just listened to a great presentation from Euan Semple, the former head of knowledge management at the BBC, discussing his crusade to introduce Web 2.0 technologies into that organisation.
Euan had some interesting things to say about the argument of productivity vs time-wasting in social networks, basically bringing it down to empowering workers with the tools, educating them in their usage, and then leaving them to get on with their jobs. After all, as he pointed out, if you are really worried about your staff wasting time on Facebook, maybe you should spend more time on your HR processes ....
